Hayley’s Total Pancreactomy & Auto Islet Transplant May 31, 2013 @ Stollery Children’s Hospital Edmonton, Alberta. Dr. James Shapiro
Day-1 – Hayley’s Incision
Day-1 – Sitting Up Already
Day-1 – A little Smile for mom!
Day-1
IV – Epic Fail (finding a vein) – She poked Hayley for over 7 minutes until I had to put a stop to it! The poor kid just underwent 13 hours of surgery…Enough is Enough! Get someone who can get the job done right!!!
Day-2 Hayley gets up out of bed!
Day-2 Proud as can be!!
Day – 3 Hayley is awake and aware!
Day-3 Even using a “High Tech” Ultrasound machine the doctor is unable to find and snag a vein for yet another IV line. Hayley’s veins don’t come out to play…ever!
Day-3 So many IV’s per hand…how much can a young girl endure 🙁
Day-3 Already Walking
Day-4 Too many IV’s per hand…off to the feet they go!
Day-4 NG Stomach Drain!
Hayley keeps pulling out her NG drain. If she pulls it out all the way she will have to have it put back in her nose and throat. NOT NICE! They have really taped it down to her face.
